Martial Rhythm

Martial arts follow mechanics of human body to achieve motion with high efficiency and fluency. Such fluency makes people associate to the previous and next movement within a moment, engaging highly smooth experience of seeing.

 

“Martial Rhythm” is a painting series started in 2015, taking martial gesture as subject to explore how painting could representing fluency of watching martial gesture.

At the current stage, by mixing pictures with painting, “Martial Rhythm” divides the responsibilities of painting into two parts, figuration and defiguration, assigning the former for pictures, and latter for painting, in order to overlap those opposite painting approach but reduce counter or neutralization among them.
